Vintage crockery jar with a lid and two-tone glaze. A true piece of utilitarian Americana kitchen ware, early kitchens were full of these stoneware and earthenware vessels.
This crock's lid's stumpy handle is rustic, not smooth and unglazed, all original conditions of this primitive piece. Where the dark and light glazes meet around the center of the jar there are a few between areas that were left unglazed, again an original condition that adds character and texture.
The light glazing has crackling occurring due to age leaving a mottled finish which is again, texturally interesting. In overall great condition, although there is one slight chip at the mouth, under the lid which does not show, or detract.
