Jackson China platter vintage restaurant ware in western motif. This vintage Jackson China restaurant ware platter features a black airbrushed steer head roasting on a fire and detail at the rim. The signature back stamp dates this small bowl to being manufactured in 1962. This platter is in good condition with some use wear on the platter surface, plus a dark spot on the rim where the glaze was skipped.

Platter measures: 13-1/2"L x 9-3/8"W x 1-1/4"H

The Jackson China Co. was formed in 1914 in Falls Creek, PA by Harry Jackson who had previously been working at Warwick China. In 1916 Jackson China replaced their wood and coal fired kilns with natural gas and began offering the hearty vitrified china associated with restaurant ware. The Jackson China Co. continued to produce an entire catalog of styles and patterns until 1985, and in 1989 a fire destroyed the Jackson facility entirely.
