Vintage salt & pepper shakers with stereotypical Sleeping Mexican leaning up against a saguaro cactus motif were made in occupied Japan following WWII. This charming set is typical of the Japanese redware style imports of kitchen goods that were very popular during the late 1940s, early 1950s. This familiar set has hand painted details on our Señor's sarape and hat band. In excellent condition, each with original stoppers.
