Frankoma plate Wagon Wheel pattern in "Prairie Green" glaze. The backside signature is not stamped but this design is known to be Frankoma mold #94FL. Signature to the Wagon Wheel pattern is the wagon wheel showcased on this plate's face. Great looking, very handsome alone, or with a larger collection. This vintage Frankoma plate is in great condition, some utensil wear can be seen but does not detract from look, or function.

Frankoma Pottery began in earnest in 1936, started by John Frank an Art and Pottery teacher at the University of Oklahoma. The name Frankoma married John Frank's name with the last letters in Oklahoma. Wagon Wheel pattern is the signature Frankoma Pottery dinnerware line and touted by Frankoma as being, 'In memory of the Pioneers who built our Democracy. The pattern was first introduced in 1942. Frankoma Pottery forged the way for colored dinnerware, which until that point had been primarily stoneware. Frankoma Pottery closed its operations plant in 2004.
