Award winning Nevada artist, Larry Bute's western art painting is almost synonymous with the landscape. Traveling throughout Northern Nevada his work can be seen in almost every town by way of murals, and etc. Although Bute grew up on a farm in the Midwest, he took a job as a ranch hand in Colorado as a teenager and stayed on to attend the Colorado Art Institute. Following his education, Bute was hired on as an illustrator for the US Department of the Interior, but spent his weekends rodeo'ing. As a young rodeo cowboy, Bute had an opportunity to draw illustrations for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, drawings that were used to help standardize PRCA judging.
