This piece is likely one of a kind, simply because these old chalkware pieces never seem to survive into old age in this pristine of condition. An age old theme in the vintage Mexicana style with shining bright colors and a sort of faux bois frame, this couple nestles close under a tree and a big yellow sombrero. Behind the paddle cactus a sunset is illuminated from behind as the reverse painted glass fades from blue to red.
Not a chip or crack can be found on this ca. 1940s era little plaster beauty, in fact the only defects are a few minor scratches on the painted glass, which disturbs neither the look of function of this gorgeous bit of kitsch! Perfect for the Mexicana collector, as we doubt you'll ever find another.
